Dialogue

Every year,  Dr Lee gives a talk to the children at school. What is he talking about?

-          What do you do every day?

-          I eat cereal for breakfast every morning.

-          I always play football in the morning.

-          That´s perfect! A healthy child practises sports and doesn´t sit in front of the computer  for hours. Look!

-          What does a healthy child do every day?

ü  Sleeps eight hours.

ü  Gets up early

ü  Has a good breakfast

ü  Walks or rides a bike to school

ü  Eats fruit and vegetables

ü  Goes to the club after school

ü  Goes to the park.

-          I usually play computer games after school. Is that OK?

-          Computer games are fine. But be careful! Play computer games but also play with  your friends in the park as well.

-          Remember a healthy child doesn´t watch TV for hours or doesn´t go  to bed late at night.

Dr Lee is very happy today. The children are learning a lot!

But the children are very tired, too….

We have dinner and watch TV. Sometimes I play computer games. I go to bed at half past ten.

                  bike to school at seven thirty and study a lot.

Gandma: Do you have lunch at school?

Margaret: No, I don´t. I have lunch at home at twelve thirty. And I watch TV from

                    one to two pm.

Grandma: That´s great! You can relax!

Margaret: Yes, but then I do my homework and at five, I have tea with my mum. I

                    go to the sports club at five twenty every afternoon.

Grandma: What sports do you play?

Margaret: I play basketball. My friend Mary plays basketball, too.

Grandma: You are very active! Do you go home after that?

Margaret: Yes, I do. I have dinner and go to bed early. I need a holiday now!

Grandma: Yes, you do! Come to visit me during the summer holidays! Grandpa and

                   I miss you a lot!

These are my friends, Matt and Lucy. They are twins (their birthday is on April 12th). They have got dark hair and brown eyes . They are in the 5th grade and they are very good students. But… when it´s time to eat, they like different kinds of food. Lucy loves fast food: hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza and chips and she has coke or juice for lunch and dinner. She never has water. What about Matt? He likes fish, fruit and vegetables but he doesn´t like fast food. He has wáter for lunch and dinner. But there is a problema: He loves sweets, chocolate and cakes. Mar del Plata is my home town and I love it!!!! It is a beautiful city! There are lots of big houses and blocks of flats. There are big parks, too.

Summer is my favourite season. In the morning, my father and I cycle along the Rambla. In the afternoon, we go to the beach and swim in the sea.

I live in a flat and I can see the sea from my bedroom. There is a supermarket next to my flat. That is great because I can buy an ice lolly or some chocolate milk when I go to the beach.

Manu and Luana live in Argentina but they come from different places. Manu´s home town is La Paloma, in Uruguay. Luana´s home town is Sâo Paulo, in Brazil.

Many says that there are houses in the old part of the town.

Luana says that there are skyscrapers. Sâo Paulo is a very big city.

La Paloma:

La Paloma is a tourist destination because it has got beautiful beaches. About 5300 people live here and most people live in houses. But during the summer, a lot of visitors come on holidays. There is a casino and a cinema, too. There is a lighthouse in the old part of the town. You can go to the top and take photos of the town.

Sâo Paulo:

Sâo Paulo is a huge city and it is full of beautiful modern buildings.  About 12 million people live in Sâo Paulo. Most people live in flats. There are about 280 cinemas, 120 theatres and 99 museums! There are shopping centres, hotes and offices. There are millions of cars in the streets because Sâo Paulo is a very busy city.

Visit Gaiman

Read

Gaiman is an interesting town in the south of Argentina. There are many places to see and activities to do. Here are some suggestions.

-          See the Old Chapel, one of the 15 chapels in the valley.

-          Visit museums. The Regional History Museum is at Chubut´s old railway station (1909). You can find information about the colony in Welsh and Spanish and see photographs and personal objects of the founders, too. You can buy books and souvenirs.

-          Go to the Anthropological Museum and see a lot of fossils.

-          Drink delicious tea in traditional Tea Houses.

-          Visit interesting exhibitions and enjoy celebrations during the year.

Gaiman is a small town in Chubut. It is famous for its delicious cakes and tea. There are many tea houses because there are many people of Welsh origin.

Hi! I´m Dewey. This is my home town, Gaiman. I´ve got many friends and relatives here. They speak Spanish and they speak English, too.

Dewey´s house is very big and it is near the river. His grandma´s house is next to the river, too. Dewey and his friends ride their bicycles every afternoon. They have a great time!
